Alexis Tsiramanes is a Boston based dancer that began training at the young age of three in West Boylston, Massachusetts. At Diane Kelley Dance Studio she took ballet, tap and jazz classes. She continued dancing with the same competitive dance studio until graduating high school and expanded on various other styles such as contemporary, modern and acrobatics. Alexis currently trains at Boston Conservatory at Berklee pursuing her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Contemporary Dance Performance. While training in Boston she has been able to not only broaden her knowledge in various styles of dance but also learn more about the creative process of making dances and collaborating.  She had the privilege of studying from many influential and experienced educators such as Kurt Douglas, Brian McGinnis, Ruka Hatua-Saar White, Jim Viera, Jun Kuribayashi, and many more. At Boston Conservatory at Berklee she worked alongside Daniel Pelzig and Crystal Perkins in residencies for an annual fall showcase entitled From the Ground Up. Alexis also had the ability to work and collaborate with many of her talented peers, learning how to share the space and create work with others. In addition to school performances, Alexis collaborated with dancers and singers in the Cambridge Chamber Ensemble in the Venus and Adonis opera. This was her first professional performance experience and was fortunate enough to have the ability to work amongst several different kinds of artists in the process. Aside from training at the conservatory, she also participated in several summer intensives and workshops. The co/motion summer intensive in Boston and the Henny Jurriens Studio Summer Intensive in Amsterdam were a few of the most inspirational learning experiences. In Amsterdam she had the opportunity to take workshops from Xanthe Van Opstal teaching Imre and Marne Van Opstal repertory, Astrid Sweeney teaching Damien Jalet repertory, and Guy Shomroni teaching Ohad Naharin Repertory. Alexis is most enthusiastic about contemporary work, but also enjoys technical styles and what it means to push the boundaries within them. Besides performing, Alexis is also interested in choreography, interdisciplinary collaboration and working with a variety of artists in these processes.
